Step 1. Choose A Niche

Step 2. Outline Your Blog’s Homepage Structure

Your next step is to outline your blog structure. If your aim is to make money with your blog, you need to have a dedicated homepage that contains a lead magnet, a list of your courses, and links to your most important posts. Your homepage has to be a landing page with a funnel. It should guide the viewer into taking action.

Step 4. Create Product Reviews

One of the best ways to monetize a new blog is through affiliate marketing and to promote affiliate products successfully, you will need to create product reviews. Now in most cases, as a new blogger, you just don’t have enough experience with products in your niche to create reviews.

It’s okay if you are using amazon associates for affiliate products, try promoting products with 4-5 star reviews. If you are using sites like Digistore24, Clickbank or Shareasale, also promote products with high gravity, reviews, or search google to see what others are saying before promoting a product.

Money posts are posts that you create specifically to make sales. They are usually written in a strategic order with buyer intent. When people want to buy something, they usually search using keywords like “best” “top” “review” “vs” or “how to”.

Using these terms shows that a person is in buyer mode but wants to choose the best option or quality possible. When creating money posts, you must remember to keep your posts relevant to your niche. Spend time creating at least 5 great money posts using titles with buyer intent. Try to aim for at least 2000-3000 word articles for each of your money posts. Make sure to add in the pros and cons of each product and give them a solid, well-researched recommendation at the end of each post.

To make money blogging, you need traffic, to get free traffic, you need a high domain authority score. It takes years of high-quality content to grow your domain authority score, therefore, you need to guest post. Guest posting is when you write and post articles relevant to your niche on other blogs with high domain authority.

When you create articles for high authority sites, you are allowed to add links back to your site within the articles. These links pass on link juice and increase your domain score as well. These links are known as backlinks, the more relevant, high-quality backlinks you have pointing to your blog, the higher your posts appear in search engines.

Generally, you want to look at blogs with domain authority scores of over 50 and a spam score of under 3%. Your first step is to find blogs in your niche that are accepting guest posts. Try sending out as many emails to all the blogs on your list using the template above and wait for their replies. Note that not all of them will reply to you right away, therefore, you need to follow up with them. When you do get responses, it’s time to craft a pitch with topic relevancy.

There are 4 things to keep in mind when pitching your topics, they must be relevant to the blog’s audience, you need to have knowledge around the topic, your topic does not already exist on their site, lastly, the topic must have SEO value to the sites existing content.

To find topics that provide SEO value to the blog you are pitching to, simply scan through their pillar content to see if there are any keywords and content that need adding. lastly, always make sure to check the site’s content guidelines.

Step 8. Create Digital Freebies

A freebie is a free digital item that you can give away in return for email subscribers to grow your email list. More on building an email list below. A freebie can be a pdf, a planner, a journal, a guide, or anything your audience can easily access or download upon entering their email address.

Your freebie should be relevant to your blog niche and should give a hint as to what your audience should expect from you in the future. It should also be good enough to get your audience to want to buy your future product.

But most importantly, it should be really helpful to your audience and provide a solution to their problems and earn their trust. To get ideas for creating freebies, simply search your niche plus “freebie” and click on images on Google.

They are yours if your Pinterest or Google traffic fails, you will always have your list to market your products to and bring traffic back to your blog. Not having a niche targeted email list is like leaving money on the table.

Notice I said, “niche targeted”? This simply means that you need to capture your audience using a freebie that is relevant to your niche! You also need to keep your list updated daily or weekly with helpful tips and tricks so that they don’t forget who you are. Nurturing your email list regularly will make it so much easier to monetize.

Step 10. Create Digital Products

Your ultimate goal as a blogger who intends to make money is to create your own digital product. This may sound very scary, but it really isn’t! Creating a digital product that serves your audience and helps them solve a problem is a very successful way to take your blog to six figures.

Sites like Amazon, Clickbank, Shareasale, & Digistore 24 offer affiliate programs for bloggers and affiliate marketers. I recommend you sign up for all four of them and try to find products with high commissions to promote.

I also recommend that you choose products with 4-5 stars reviews because people rely on reviews to make purchases.

How Long Does It Take To Make Money From A Blog

Most aspiring bloggers wonder how long it takes to start earning money from a blog, well it depends on your blog monetization framework and how long it takes for you to start driving traffic. It could take a year, or it could take a month.
